New Video Lessons
Stella by Starlight. This one has been a long time coming :) One of my favorite tunes of all. Stella contains so much harmonic material to study particularly in the area of minor harmony. Topics include re-targeting II-V's, diminished substitutions, chromatic II-V's and derived pentatonics.
All of You. One of my favorite tunes. It's interesting to see how Cole Porter's original harmony has been modified to please the jazz improvisor. Topics include alternate methods of harmonization, dealing with the flat III Diminished chord, turnarounds and minor chord/diminished chord walk ups.
Slash Chord Harmony/ Triadic Improvisation. By request, a look at some modern ways of dealing with jazz harmony. All slash chords are studied, as well as triad pairs derived from major, melodic minor and diminished scales. Many linear examples are provided.

Lesson pages reformat.

I had a few suggestions about the placement of the "add to cart" button. I've changed the lesson pages to reflect that and have added more lessons on each page, to make browsing easier. I also put an older video "Bye, Bye, Blackbird" back online:)

New Video Lessons for December

I've uploaded 2 new video lessons for December. Since it is the holiday season I've done a lesson on the very beautiful Christmas tune "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". The entire arrangement is provided on a PDF file and I fully discuss all of the techniques and voicings used. I've also done a lesson on Joe Henderson's tune Punjab. A fairly challenging tune! I discuss topics such as pentatonics, voicings in 4ths and melodic voice leading. You tube examples are located on my youtube channel!
NYC Gigs!

Very excited about this! Playing at the La Lanterna Cafe with Marco Panascia on bass and Mark Ferber on drums. The date is December 10th. Here is a link to the venue. The following night I am playing with fellow guitarist Peter Mazza. Check him out, an absolute monster! It's a small place, so reservations are recommended. Hope to see you there:)
